President's Message

September 2025

Happy September everyone!

Fall is just around the corner and we know what that means. The weather starts to get cooler, the days get shorter, and the holidays are just around the corner.

It also means schools are back in session and students will be studying hard till graduation day. CDAA has a wonderful new addition to our board, Madison McCallister, student director if you haven’t already heard. Feel free to contact her if you or any students have any questions along the way. Madison can be reached at student@cdaaweb.org.  CDAA would like to encourage all students to sign up to become California Dental Assistants Association members. Go to https://cdaaweb.org/students/ for more info!

On Wednesday Sept 24 via Zoom, Kevin Henry will be speaking on: Lead Like a Pro: Leadership Skills for Dental Assistants Who Want to Step Up and Stand Out. This course will help everyone in the office be able to apply effective communication strategies to build trust, reduce conflict and strengthen team collaboration, help grow your leadership confidence, and become effective team members.  This course is free to all students and $20.00 for members and $30.00 for non-members. You will receive two Live Ce Units for this course. If you have not already signed up for our next Live Ce Course, please go to our website https://cdaaweb.org.

Also, mark your calendars for April 17/18, 2026 for the annual CDAA/CADAT conference. The conference team is working very hard for next year’s event and the location will be announced in the very near future. Keep an eye out for it!

Sincerely,

Christine Burton Macalino RDA, CDA. BA, FADAA
